Return of the Monday Blurb!

Hey, I’m back… for better or worse I’m back and hope to update my online mosaic/collage of irrelevant, random and inconsequential thoughts and blabbering on a more consistent basis. I think I have my wireless connection finally figured out and it’s stable… as in I’m not getting kicked off of my landlord’s network every 30 seconds. Either way, it won’t matter in a couple more days because he is putting in a land line for me so that I won’t have to rely on the wireless signal.

Since he’s going to be putting in a land line, he obviously has to come into my place and do all the wiring. He came down today while I was making dinner (more of that down below…) and asked for my permission to come into my suite when I’m not home to do the wiring tomorrow (the whole landlord – tenent Act thingy). He asked to come in and have a look too (to see how to wire the cable) and luckily I keep my place clean and organized or else he would think I’m such a typical bachelor guy with a messy pad. But hah! He must have been impressed to see the place so clean.

Anyways, made a very quick dinner tonight since I wanted to watch the Canucks and Dallas game, the last period anyways. Alas, they lost 2-1 tonight. At least they’re in every single game I’ve watched this season and they’re working their butts off on the ice. Problem is, the team has no scoring outside of the number one line and Salo. Back to dinner… I made herb and cheese stuffed tortellini (sp?) with a deconstructed pesto sauce (what I like to call it anyways… “deconstructed” is so chic right now… in cooking anyways). NO, I didn’t make the pasta… the pasta was store bought but I made the sauce. Really easy…. boil pasta, drain, toss in good olive oil, a minched clove of garlic, a bunch of chopped up basil leaves (fresher the better), a pinch of salt, pinch of pepper and a good portion of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Toss and serve. Oh yeah, pine nuts are optional (but I didn’t have any lying around…. hey, I’m a bachelor! ;-) ) I also added some protein to the meal (since I’m trying to gain weight and bulk up…) in the form of some Italian sausage (I know I know… pesto and Italian sausage?! The French and Italian cooks of old must be rolling in their graves!) and some bacon. It was mmm, mmmm… good! Yeah, I’m biased!

Well, here’s a pic of my dinner (actually my lunch tomorrow as I got the idea to take the picture only after I finished eating my dinner tonight, so it’s not nicely plated …. forgive me) – the pic is a little blurry, I know:
